What letter grades mean

 

C Good

You participated in the course and performed satisfactory work. You did what was asked and your submissions were of acceptable quality. We are pleased with your progress.

B Better

Your participation and the quality of your work were better than expected. You did more than was asked and we feel that your excellence should be recognized.

A Best

Your scholarly achievement in this course is well beyond what we can reasonably expect. The quality of your work shows motivation, analytical ability, and intellectual curiosity. Your mastery of the subject matter goes beyond the limits of the syllabus.

D Pass

Your participation, work, and performance were marginal but adequate.

F Fail

Your participation was not sufficient and the quality of your work is inadequate. You did not demonstrate a good understanding of the subject matter.
